The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) recently announced that 30 apps, including "Youdao Leread," have been flagged for issues related to the collection and use of personal information.

Among them, the "Youdao Leread" app, operated by Beijing NetEase Youdao Computer System Co., Ltd., was specifically called out for failing to provide an effective account cancellation function. Officials noted that it lacked a proper mechanism for users to delete their accounts.

As of now, Youdao has not issued a clear response regarding the notification. However, the CAC has mandated that all app operators named in the notice must complete rectification measures within 15 working days from the date of the announcement.

Following this period, the regulatory body will conduct thorough inspections in collaboration with relevant departments, and will carry out appropriate administrative actions and penalties based on the progress and outcomes of these corrective efforts.
